making a parts run i went to go look for some OG FS16’s for @53' Stude and stumbled upon this. 2024 made FS10575 with louvers and wire backing. found four and bought four. maybe the XG will go back aswell and First brands realized their mistakes.

Or AAP told Fram they want the old OG wire backed media back in the Titaniums.

Have we seen the FS10575 without the wire backing before this late made date code of this one with wire backing (212th day of 2024)?

absolutely, remember all of the ones i’ve posted? i hope atleast it comes back to the titanium’s. cant beat the OG media and i will run particle tests whenever these come out of service.

I’ve moved on to Carquest Premium
Same. I was a Fram Ultra user for a long time and I had bought an Endurance for my Corvette but then I heard about the issues and I lost all confidence in Fram. And after going to the Carquest near my place and finding out that the Premium is only $8.04 Canadian vs $15+ US for the Endurance, I’m sold. I can actually see that Carquest location from my condo, so it’s way more convenient than buying an Endurance (they aren’t sold in Canada so I had to buy it on one of my shopping trips to Niagara Falls NY)

After your recommendation I made the swap as well so thanks for that.

Ah Buffalo Niagara. Love the premium outlets, Tops, and Trader Joes! But good idea, maybe I’ll check out oil filters next time too. Last time coming back to the GTA, I stopped at the duty free. They had Johnny Walker 18 for around $70, I didn’t grab it, still kick myself for that. Maybe next time.

It’s due to the filter size, pleats are much deeper on some filters for older vehicles they have to use wire backing to support it. PH 16 hasn’t been spec’d on a new vehicle for many years. I’d expect to find the same on a PH8 equivalent, maybe PH2 as well.

If First Brands could get away without it they certainly would.
