Thank you for taking the time to C&P. Sure looks good. How much better do you feel, in your opinion, it is over the non wire backed Ultra?

100% better. after all the new ultra media filters i’ve cut apart, i have sworn them off like any non wire backed M+H product. there are better filters for your money IMO. any of the premium guard built filters are my recommendation over the OG ultra.

I appreciate and value your opinion. I was liking the original design Ultra until they changed and have been kicking around what to use next. I been using the Champ XL and STP XL's for the time being with a few Bosch Premiums throw in too. Thanks again and hope you are making out ok after the storm! I have friends in Houston that are up here with me (I am in Ellis county near Dallas) staying due to no power and house damage.

the STP XL filters should be a premium guard product, tale tale sign is a red silicone O-ring. i appreciate the thoughts, we did 3 days no power down here but made it through the storm unscathed. cant ask for more than that.

It would be nice if all filter makers using louvers in the center tube could form them that well.
