I ran this for 3K on my 2012 Scion xB with 0w-20 R&P. Because these engines have a history of oil consumption I follow TCCN recommendation of 5K or six month changes. Two things to note: the pleats were flared out on both sides of the crimp and there was a good amount of carbon grit in every pleat as well as in the can. I think there’s little doubt that Restore & Protect actually does remove carbon deposits based on the two vehicles I’m using it in currently.

The 3600 line was my last hope for Frams. If either of the two TG3600s look like that when I take them off later this year, I'm sworn off fram.
3614 and 3600 TG and PH fiber endcap FRAM's have always been hit or miss but it seems to be more miss of late.

Like the factory plant manager gets a bonus for every millimeter of media they can save when they make these filters.

I only moved to the 3600 a few years back, because the 3614 seemed to have a disproportionate number of tears & stuff like the above here. Well I'll keep my fingers crossed and see what mine look like.....

At first, I was tempted to ask what the date code was--thinking we might be able to save its reputation by saying that it was an old geezer of a filter. But I don't think that would have looked good the day it was put in a box. :(

That is by far the worst looking TG I have ever seen. 😱

Yeah, those pleats looked like that when they stuck it in the can.

I got a 2009 Pontiac vibe with the 2.4 as well like your XB
Your using TG?
I use XG4386
I bought that filter specifically because I was running R & P and wanted something with a lot of capacity for when it started shedding carbon. Fram says to run a 4836 but the fatter ones fit. Walmart (Supertech) doesn’t make that size so they recommend a 3614. I have been using a 3614 of some variety since I already had a bunch of them.
