Orange can with supposedly 11hrs on it for single cylinder yanmar. You can lie to me but you can't lie the filter cutter opener tool.

Since it's a bypass filter setup I say run a filter without a built in bypass valve and run it till it doesn't get warm any more while the engine is running, but still change the oil every 100 to 200hrs.
Don't blow smoke up my bum.

Single cyl yanmars are usually diesels aren't they? is this a gas or diesel? 11 hours on an ope diesel could darken it like that.

So what is wrong with it? Looks perfectly fine to me.

That looks pretty normal for a small diesel, even with low hours. A lot of people question on boat forums about their Yanmar-powered generators turning the oil tar black after a few hours lol.

I believe you! Geez, you don't have to get upset about it :ROFLMAO:

But - if you really want to impress me, how about some pictures of that squarebody suburban :)

It just a way to reall to see what's going on inside of your engine. To see inside the engine you can take apart your engine or cut the filter open.

Which one?

Cleary cutting the filter is easier.

I do have a few legit questions for you though: The Yanmar that this filter came out of, you mention that the filter is bypass. It doesn't have an internal bypass valve? Is it external in the engine? Is this a common set up on small diesels?

Thanks in advance.
