Fram PH 10600 c&p with flashlight test

I'm not sure if you would want to try it, but, I used MMO in my oil and fuel when I had a 2014 VW cc with the same engine as the Tiguan, I burned through a quart of Pennzoil in a 400 mile round trip. Went from the full mark to the bottom over a weekend! I put the MMO in the oil, spark plug holes, and fuel. I drove it for 500 miles and then changed the oil and put in liqui moly 5w40 and never saw that oil level drop. It made me a believer.I just now put a 10600 extra guard fram on my 2014 Audi allroad for a cheap oil flush with mobil 1 and marvel as it is used. I'll post a comparison between the fram oil filter inlet holes vs the OEM, the fram extra guard has twice as many holes vs OEM has 4 or 5 inlet holes.

I’m open to try anything at this point. I’ve already added 2 quarts. My granddaughter drives this car, I maintain it. In fact I did rear brakes and rotors on it yesterday. Not impressed to say the least. It seems VW purposely makes simple jobs miserable so people have to go to the dealer. I even had to buy a 14mm triple square tool just to remove the caliper bracket. I can honestly replace Subaru spark plugs faster…

I can tell you from experience triple square, torx and Allen head bit sockets are your friend. Buy them all and have them in your toolbox. I'd say do a piston soak with MMO, check the spark plugs while you're there, and put it in the gas and oil per bottle recommendations. I only use half a quart when I use it in oil. And I'll say quaker state, Valvoline, and liqui moly 5w40 burn very little if at all in that order. I'll tell you I have used havoline lifelong 5w30 from Walmart in my other cars and they don't leak oil or burn and they're both 270k miles +. I change my oil at 5k miles (sometimes 6) and 10k oic on the direct injected turbos is way too long. I had a 2015 Jetta 1.8t brand new using the dealer Castrol oil at 7500 miles oil changes would start to burn off, on a brand new car! I'll never use Castrol in my cars. Also check your PCV, and for any leaks. But if it's not leaking, it's burning

That means nothing.

And as a compliment to your post, I have found that Mobil 1 ESP has the least consumption in my Tiguan.

Yeah I don't know why the last letters are bold, I'm not sure what I pressed. It was just a observation I noticed whenever I swapped the filters. The "internet" had people saying the fram filters were restrictive so I was checking the inlet holes to compare. I've always used OEM on VW and Audi cars I've had except for now when I'm doing a flush over the next week.

I do have an extensive tool collection due to a past life occupation, but no triple squares(until now). Honestly I don’t intend to have her keep this car long. It was a mistake I warned her about. If she had bought a year newer I believe it would be a different story as the problems were fixed.

Looks like the plastic bypass valve is a translucent color, allowing light to pass through it. No actual leak. Thanks for the pics
