Fram orange fiber contamination...

Both 'dickwells' and 'digitaldrifter91' have mentioned concerns with the orange (Traid??) fibers from Fram air filters separating and contaminating mass air flow sensor wires. I'm looking for the articles, reports, etc., they are referring to...or (respectfully...!) is this another urban legend?

Personally, I think Fram makes a fine air filter (for MY Fram application - 99 Grand Am).

I remember reading a post from someone who said he worked at a large Nissan(?) dealership, and said that they had replaced a lot (maybe 100) of maf's due to problems with Fram Triad orange filters. I did a site search, but can't find it. I believe it was an added commemt after his .02 on oil filters. If it's in BITOG it would be from close to a year ago. Sorry I haven't got any better info. Anyone out there can help?

I don't see how they could "contaminate" the sensor even if a few did come off. Compressed air in a can would blow them right off. These things get dirty all the time. A bit of electrical cleaner and some air and they're like new again...

The MAF sensor elements are heated...what is the triad fibers composition?
