If you had a choice between a Fram oil filter or a Purolator oil filter which one would it be.I’m asking because I would like to know who of the two is built better and has earned peoples trust for their cars.Thanks

If it's a cartridge type filter, it really doesn't matter.
Fram.
I've used both, but truthfully have cut open more bad looking Purolators than I have Fram, so Fram is my go-to as of now. That is always subject to change, but in general I find the Purolators to also be higher priced at least in my area as well.
In spin on, I think you can trust the Purolator Boss.
For elements, some Purolators will be M&H made in a European or Asian location. Germany and then South Korea would be ones I would trust the most, but other locations in Europe and Asia should not be that close behind.
I think Fram have a potential quality issue with everything made in the US. Spin on leaf springs / bypass valves, improperly spaced or prepared media, improper gluing are going to be potential problems in all their filters. Their most likely high quality products are going to be third party manufactured eg South Korea.

Each company has a "Good, better, best," type product. I've used both brands but prefer the Purolator b/c they give me more information about the filter I'm using along with good build quality. Fram was highly regarded for a lot of years & for good reason. Unfortunately, they've been bought out a few years back & the quality has gone down ever since.
To clarify, it's the ruffled leaf spring stamping causing the air gap leak path, but the actual bypass valve is good.

The most recent and up to date info indicates Purolator seems to have higher quality. It didn’t used to be that way.
The one I just cut open didn’t have the ruffled leaf
But was it flat?
Needs to be flat too for a decent metal to metal seal.

I think either would be fine. Hondas spec fram made filters for their oem parts. I believe purolator (or its parent company) make ford filters for their oem line.
So my vote is whatever’s cheapest and easily accessible.
To be Frank, I think the super tech oil filters are fantastic and I’ll probably move over to their lineup soon.

The Purolator Boss is high quality. Clean threads and no leaking oil past the bypass valve like the Frams. I also have some Purolator One filters that are well made too which I will use
I have used both without issues. I also don't run oil change intervals more than 5K, so likely isn't an issue for me. If I was doing 10K, I would probably lean towards one of FRAMs higher offerings.
Someone said supertech. Those are rated at 10K, yet I cut one open (When they wre made by WIX) at 13K and it was torn. 3K beyond rating, but still...not sure when, exactly, it tore.
