If I had a Corvette I would only use an Amsoil Ea or Mobil 1 filter.

Unless the filter breaks apart and leaks you will not really know how good it was for your Corvette for many many miles and oil changes. I think the worst thing about Fram is their quality control. There have been postings of Fram filters physically breaking and ruining engines and I do not remember any other filter brand reported as doing that.

Several other filter brands have been accused of that actually and I dont think Fram has ever been found at fault in an engine failure case.
 
They apparently had some design issues early on with Cummins diesels. I'm sure Frams have failed and lunched engines. I'm also confident that it's mainly because they're so widely used that the odds of a one in a million chance thing will occur more than a few times in their sales history.

The most unusual practice, that can destroy an engine, is the SBC owners defeating the bypass mechanism. That can either breach the media ..or in the case of an Ecore (a member) just collapse the cage, block the outlet, and lunch the engine. But even that totally plausible event is rare.
