The EP is 99.5% at 25 microns. Full synthetic media with backing. But yes, tough sell if you do 10k or less oci’s in normal conditions. I do prefer the EP in my Jeep because the filter has wide spaces between the plastic cage and the backing gives me more confidence as I’ve seen cheap filters with missing chunks of media get sucked into the engine.Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t the EP have a less efficient media? Why would someone pay more for the EP over the Carquest Premium if that’s the case? There are very few people on here who go more than 10,000 miles on their oil filters anyway and that’s what the Premium is rated for
The MicroGard Select is basically the same as the Carquest Premium ... both blend media and rated to 10K miles. The CarQuest Extended Performance is full synthetic with nylon mesh backing and rated to 20K miles. Is a Microgard Select the same as the CarQuest Extended Performance or Premium?
@Patman has bought Carquest filters in Canada. Maybe their store population isn't high.Be neat if they brought either of these to Canada. Yet to see a Carquest up here offer these.
Two different companies. Vietnam copied the Mann filter media, but the Mann/Boss uses a different shaped polymer backing. The Fram is the old Champ synthetic media with the black steel screen.
Suddenly microscope pictures are important when the fav brand is shown, pretty funny. Otherwise oh no that nothing to see.
ISO 4845-12 efficiency specs over-ride any 100x microscope inspection.Suddenly microscope pictures are important when the fav brand is shown, pretty funny. Otherwise oh no that nothing to see.
The EP version? Wonder if he is west coat they may have more of a market there. We get the reds and the blues but that is as fancy as it gets.@Patman has bought Carquest filters in Canada. Maybe their store population isn't high.
Don't think he's bought the EP version, but if they have the Carquest Premium I'd think they also have the EP. He's over near Niagara Falls area. The EP version? Wonder if he is west coat they may have more of a market there. We get the reds and the blues but that is as fancy as it gets.
