Fram Death Rattle

Thanks Everyone! I replaced my Fram oil filter with a ST3980 and guess what no more engine noise at startup. I will never buy a Fram product again.

Yep it's a common symptom of a fram filter. I like the name you gave it, can I use that one?

Actually, not all of what Fram makes is crap, just stay away from their oil filters and you'll be fine.

FRams tough gaurd is a good filter,,different then extra gaurd,(orange one),,,BL

Sure, I can think of atleast 3 others that have had the same problem with Fram oil filters.

I understand but I don't want to spend that much on an oil filter.

I just stay away from Fram oil filters, period. That "death rattle" has not occurred in my vehicles since I found this site. I think that term is gonna get popular around here
