Fram bashers?

In the early 90's, Fram recalled lots of their PH6017 motorcycle filters. That was (and is) a very popular size for small sportbikes. The threads were miscut, and the filters were blowing off under high pressure. I had bought mine mail order and had to find out about the recall over the net.
Several racers went down when the frams popped off and dumped the oil in front of the rear tire.
I quit using Frams then.
About 4 years later...same problem, same filter.
Their QC must be non-existant.

Our place made 70% of the accelerometers that went into the JDAMS units that made all those formerly retarded bombs so 'smart' and allowed so much greater accuracy when smiting an enemy from afar than before. Of course, even then there were failures. Maybe some of the Fram guys got transferred to Redmond?

The oem oil filter (15400 PLM-A02) is made to Honda specifications by none other than FRAM !!Needless to say, it is not orange but painted BLUE! The FRAM numbering system is the 7317.
The owners manual recommends 5/10k oil changes (conventional oil) severe/normal and EVERY other oil change to change the oil filter 10 S /20k N

Recently Honda went to Fram for their OEM filters. if you drive a Honda and want the Filtech filter, handa-accessories.com is where I found them. They are about 5 bucks a piece. I bought about 10, and when I am out, and if H and A does not have them anymore, I will most likely go to Wix.
