Fuel dilution issue.
I have my wife take it back to a Walmart auto service center as they recycle it.

Best to return it to a place that accepts used motor oil. Each state is different. But most have a way of DIY recycling the used motor oil.
What really happens to recycled used motor oil? Is it a scam like plastic recycling is?

All those years I gave my used oil to a transmission shop that used it to heat their workspace probably wasn't the best idea but better than watching a farmer pop the drain plug on a tractor in the corner of a corn field.
Complete combustion is acceptable if the ash is properly dealt with .
I was told oil is recycled by a friend's father who was an electrical engineer. How much he knew about the oil refining industry is questionable.
It was "common knowledge" that Sears oil was made from recycled oil. I have no idea if that was true but the same poppo told me many swore by such oils as lesser grade stuff was gone from the recycled product.
Recycling should be total.

Read my post again. I use it to START a fire and use maybe a 1/2 cup on the wood. Recycled oil supposedly is used in the winter for heat BTW.
Valvoline NextGen was a sales flop. People, Americans at least, don't trust the process.
Used oil heaters are common here. With #2 HHO at $5.25/gal I'm jealous. But since they're engineered for it, they get hot enough to burn it "ok". Not sure doing it with a match is the same.

My oil oil goes to the Walmart recycle also. Ed

Nah, that’s similar to what the Exxon Valdez did. Oops!If you dump it into the streams and rivers it gets evenly dispersed back into the ground to be found again.
