Anyone use Formula shell motor oil? I was surprised to learn that Shell manufactures Pennzoil, Quaker-state. Could Formula Shell be the same as Pennzoil? Would any of you recommend the Formula shell oil?

I've used it, I think Shell is below Pennzoil but not a bad low cost oil. Like any new oil, if you do 3000-4000 mile oil changes I really don't think it matters much on which oil you use. I get Formula shell and chevron supreme for under $1, hard to beat the price.

I just put Formula Shell in my dad's 05' Civic for its first oil change.

SuperTech, Formula Shell, Citgo Supergard and Exxon Superflo are all lower priced dino oils that perform very well with reasonable OCI's.

I'm using Formula Shell on my dad's 7th gen civic and it's running fine.

These are blended in Calgary Canada so we suspect that the base stock is from Canadian source as well.

Probably due to the maple syrup additive.

Fine OIL. But pennzoil is GRP II+ and Formula Shell is GRP II. Add packs are different with Shell being weaker. But like everyone says fine for a 3K-5K OCI.

I bought 3 quarts of 5W30 tonight at Walmart for 1.28 a qt....figured why not?? Not bad stuff from what I can gather
