Is there any real difference between Pennzoil Conventional, Quaker State Conventional, and Formula Shell conventional oils?

I don't believe there is much of a difference between the three oils, they will all give you good service as they are all produced by SOPUS.

Yes, of course, there are differences.

PQIA has tested them - you should check out their site.

Buy whichever is cheapest and most easily available in your area.

All are excellent products the differences are tiny, and only the lab tools can detect the differences.

Formula Shell and Quaker State Conventional test almost identically, per PQIA.

Pennzoil Conventional is rather different in both physical properties and additives than either of them.
