Ford has been loosing money on the E-Series Econolines and Club Wagons for many years. And now they have an all new and thoroughly modern competitor in the field, the Nissan NV (built in Mississippi). Toyota is also working on a full sized van. Ford was going to have to do a complete ground-up redesign if they were going to be competitive in the future. I am not surprised that Ford is pulling the plug, Dodge was the first to see the writing on the wall, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if GM soon did the same.
