Has anybody noticed that Ford takes some major shots at Musk and Tesla in their Lightening commercials? Not even subtle.

I think Ford(GM and RAM too) should be thanking their lucky stars, that Tesla brought out their own stupid truck instead of a real competitor.
Tesla should have hired Fords whole F150 design and engineering team... Maybe they still will?

Tesla should be embarrassed ford beat them to the pickup markup.

Since Ford just announced a seriously bad recall on the mach-e for almost everyone ever built they dont have much ground to stand on.

I honestly don’t think Tesla cares what other vehicle manufacturers do, they have their own design methods and rules in their own bubble. The people who buy TSLA likely don’t cross shop other cars and if they do expect them to own multiple cars instead of just one or the other.

The 350mile range Cybertruck appeals to a specific market that doesn’t overlap with people who will buy a 200 mile range F150.
Musk likely oversold the Cybertruck with too low of s price and due to 2020 will take forever to build any given solid demand for TSLAs existing offerings.

Give it 5 years and see where the dice fall.

No way this would happen, since Tesla actually pays their engineers less than their michigan counterparts, in an area with a higher cost of living ;sneaky:

Yes and it's about time other companies shut the whining Twitter Troll up. Elon publicly said that and I Quote "Tesla is so far ahead nobody will build an electric truck before we do." Ahem Rivian, Ford , and the Electric Hummer would beg do differ. Heck Tesla just pushed back the production again to 2023 if the Cybertruck and Semi actually show up.

The problems with Ford is that the accountants and MBAs run the show in Dearborn. Billy Ford bringing a former Toyota USA executive as CEO to right the shop ain’t gonna work.

IMO, Elon Musk should drop his bid for Twitter and buy out Toyota. That way, he’ll also get a supply chain and a lesson on building cars that don’t fall apart.

Although the actual production keeps getting pushed back, the Cybertruck has pre-orders for something like 1.25 million vehicles. The Ford F-150 electric version is expected to maybe sell 50,000 ?

Let's see who the winners and losers are once the Cybertruck starts rolling vehicles off of the assembly line. Rivian may be out of business by then too.

And what is Mary Barra from GM smoking ? She predicts GM EV's will outsell Tesla by 2025. Maybe she thinks Tesla will be standing still for the next 2.5 years. Everyone said when Tesla can build 1 million cars a year it will be a big deal. Well, with a little luck they will have a run rate of 2 million cars a year within the next two quarters.

Ford and GM are whistling past the graveyard.

LOL Good point. Hopefully Ford learned from the Mach-e and not follow suit with their PU or they're going to be in a world of poo poo.

Ford has over 200k reservations on Lightning Trucks - and is actually delivering them. The number isn't bigger as they acknowledged they couldn't deliver more... Tesla still has some giant number of reservations on a truck that nobody knows when it may start being delivered. Which horse do you put your money on...

I heard 10, some of them actually legal.
In fact, I heard that the Twitter deal is the first thing he ever tried to pull out of....
The entire Twitter thing was a sham from the get-go.
Just prior to announcing that he was purchasing Twitter, Elon was proclaiming that the country was headed into a deep recession. A couple of weeks later he did his Twitter purchase announcement and subsequent drama, then he sold $50 Billion of his Tesla stock to pay for his Twitter "purchase", then he announced that he was putting the Twitter deal on hold, and finally he announced that the deal was off. All of this was planned IMO.
The entire episode was concocted so he could sell that $50 Billion in Tesla stock and not cause the stock to collapse in value. Whatever happens to the economy and Tesla, Elon walks away with $50 Billion in cash. Even if Twitter wins it's $1 Billion lawsuit against him, Elon walks away with $49 Billion in cash. Elon is one slick operator, and a shady character.
As far as Ford is concerned, you know what they say about people who live in glass houses.
