Ford Fiesta 2013

I really like its looks and features. Reliability has been disappointing but according to reviews it handles well and is comfortable and pretty efficient.

Reliability problems on most new fords lie in 2 areas.
1. MyFordTouch which there working on, and there's an update that helps.
2. Fords dual clutch automated manual (DCT)

Once they fix those 2 problems, and the odd squeak or rattle, I would buy any new ford with confidence.

The fiesta is awesome. Great MPGs (well above sticker ratings) with the DCT. It isn't a DI engine. Plenty of pep. The electronic power steering provides great feedback, surprisingly.

I really like the 6spd DCT. It is quirky but if you realize it is a manual transmission and accept that, it is great.

We have 2011 model with a little over 33K miles and the dreaded Powershift DCT. Zero issues. Great MPG, very nimble, every space is a potential parking space. No regrets at all, except that they came out with the Fiesta ST, so we'll probably trade the 2011 for one of those.

I think many complaints about the DCT stem from people expecting it to behave like a torque convertor automatic. Again, no issues with ours.

As basic transportation that is cheap to run and doesn't suck to drive, big thumbs up from me. Two pedals OR three pedals.

Why is it that some people insist that the next size bigger car is always the best value? You hear this CONSTANTLY when the talk of small cars comes up. Smallness is a desirable characteristic in a subcompact car.

Make sure you sit in it, and bring the wife and kids. The hatchback does have nice lines but once I sat in it I knew I would never buy one. They are incredibly small and you're not saving enough money to be worth it.

If you have to have new, I'd definitely step up to the Focus. If not, you can get a 1-2 year old Fusion for less than a new Fiesta.

See? There ya go. You'd think that someone asking for opinions on a subcompact car might already have an idea that it might be kinda small.

But, agree that the backseat is pretty small. Just fine if you have a rugrat strapped in the passenger rear and momma driving, though. Or in town trips.

As stated above - the only two problems with the car are DCT and MFT. If you get a model with justa radio and manual trans, you won't have ANY problems with it!

With that said, it's definitely on the smaller side of the class. The Fit, Sonic, Versa ... have significantly more space inside - both front seat and back seat.

The Spark (next size down!!) has more leg and head room than the fiesta. Fiesta has much more driveability and cargo room, though.

It is a variable valve timing, DI engine, so I'd avoid the recommended 10K oci intervals unless you get it analyzed. They are a lot of fun to drive, for what they are!

Is it? I thought all of the Ti-VCT engines were DI? Didn't know the 1.6 was port injected!

In that case - the recommended 10K OCI would be a bit less stressful.

Incorrect. Also, it has an oil life monitor to go by, not set intervals.

Because a subcompact car's 44-inch seatbelt can't fit around the average American.

The average american male is 5'10" and 195#. The fiesta can comfortably seat 4 average americans.

Pretty sure both of the Mustang engines have TI-VCT as well and are port injected (for now).

After looking at Fords website, it looks like the Focus offers $3000 cash back, and the Fiesta only $1500.

Is that what you're looking at?
