Not trying to start a domestic/import fight here but it seems that some of the Japanese companies may be heading in the opposite direction from Ford. I went on Edmunds to check on 09' Corollas and Civics and there are several owners that aren't happy. One Civic owner said "give me my 2004 back". The 2009 Corolla gets much worse reviews than the 2008 and previous. If looking for a car in that segment you really could consider the Focus as equal (if not better) in quality.
