Ford E-series front shocks - how do I remove the front driver top mount?

I have a 2003 E-250 where the top mount for the front driver shock is completely obscured by:

floorpan
spring plate
frame rail
metal wheel well
everything but the kitchen sink

I have the 5.4L SOHC V8 (gas), with ABS, 4R70W, and power steering + A/C

Unfortunately no - that's from the 89-96 manual.

The 2003s are very different. The top it off, my Ford 96-2003 Factory service DVD fails to include shock removal procedures for any of the E-series vans.

The problem with the 2003 E-250 is the driver floorpan is directly in the way of the box ended wrench.
