I have a 2011 Fusion with the 6F35. I am able to monitor transmissionmission temperature with my SCT tuning device. What is the normal transmissionmission temperature range for the 6F35? At what temperature is it recommended to stop and allow it to cool?
Presently I'm running 185-190 coolant temps and the transmissionmission temp is tagging pretty close if I drive it hard. Running 80-85 MPH with an 80 degree ambient temp results in 185-ish degree transmission temps. Once I get off the highway and cruise backroads at 55-60, it cools off to the high 170's (177-178).
I've read that the 6F35 normally runs at those temps, it's just a little warmer than I'm used to seeing with my F250 and it's built 5R110 (165-170).
I do have an aux cooler installed, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I've read that the 6F35 has a thermostat, but I'm not seeing one in series with the transmissionmission cooler lines on my car. Unless the thermostat is internal?
