I always found that to be accurate and also a powerful negotiating point when people have inflated value opinions.


Blue Book around $6500, I am going to wait a week and mention the blue book value, also I am going to check the taurus too

Edmunds says $6,600 for a car in clean condition.

All the pricing guides are just that - guides. With many new cars at $30,000.00 plus that Mercury doesn't look too bad.

While the person who traded in my 2006 500 only got $3K and I paid $5K I could not get any car should make a good over the road car for sales trips plus it lessen the impact of my physical limitation being the S80 Volvo chassis. People who are not comfortable with older used cars will trade so those of us who are may get new wheels.

Well the guy call me and we settle for $6600 , I told him I am not going to pay for than the blue book value

He is going to have a hard time selling that car private party and so will you if you dont like it long term. That in mind, give him a few days of nobody wanting his car and offer 100 more.
