07 335 auto with 70k miles still on FF transmission fluid. Bought used at 65k miles. Should I drain and add with BMW spec fluid or flush with Redline ATF...and if ATF which version?

remove the oil and filter, clean the magnet, fill with ATF, drive for 30k miles, repeat.
Drain and fill vs flush? No issue mixing OE with Redline.
What fluid does the manual specify for that BMW?

Redline D6 or Amsoil ATL/OTL... are a couple. Most lv full synth universal multivehicle ATFs will work too.
Post the required BMW spec or pn for more choices.
At this mileage, a full change should be considered. Another option would be 2-4 drain/refills.

I would drain and refill with OEM fluid every 30-40k miles
Fluid change is not required until 100k - leave it alone.
When it comes time to do it, let the dealer or a Euro specialist handle it. You're better off having it done by someone who has performed this service before.

First you should know what the OEM fluid is. Certain cars were filled at the factory with synthetic ATF. Sometimes you don't need to go to the dealer to get OEM fluid, as some European car companies will simply take a Pentosin fluid, write their name on it, and multiply the price 3 or 4 times.

Yeah, sorry. It's just that without knowing what the book specifies everyone is shooting in the dark.
I also agree you need the book if you are going to change it. Follow whatever they say to the letter.

By follow the book, are you saying follow BMW or follow ZF's recommendation? I am looking to extend the life as much as possible with Cobb soon to be added to the equation so presumably more heat/wear on the transmission. I am using 7500 - 10k OCIs vs BMW recommended 15k for similar reasons. I am not familiar with ZF ATF so my debate is just do a drain and fill with roughly 5 quarts of ZF vs full flush and fill with ZF or Redline ATF. I am assuming mixing the 2 is not desired but perhaps you all have other thoughts there also.

Get the fluid from your BMW dealer, I would drain and fill it now and then again in 1k miles.
100k is too long for any transmission fluid especially the FF which will be holding all the break in metals and contamination.

Also not sure if you have a drain plug but if you don't look at getting a good size mity vac.

Sorry, I meant mechanically - follow the BMW recommendation for how you replace the fluid and check the level. Maybe it is easy, maybe not so much. On my old BMW it is the typical BMW method of overfiling and letting it run out until a certain temperature is reached (with the car level). Not a huge job but still you want to do it right.
And I have a friend with several BMWs and his use Lifeguard 6 as well. Kinda pricey eh?
