Fleetguard Stratapore vs. Fram Ultra

If dilution is a concern, just change the Ultra every other interval. It'll still be going strong, and the small percentage of oil with dilution would be further diluted.

I'm considering doing mine every other time on the Ultra. I'll miss spilling the oil out of the filter, though..

+1 ... the OP said his OCIs are 6,000 miles. The Ultra is good for 15,000 miles. So if he did an oil change at 6k (or even up to 7.5K) and left the filter on, the amount of "diluted oil" left in the filter compared to the amount of fresh oil installed in the sump would be pretty small and not enough to worry about IMO.

Very true. I might consider doing that. I know it filters better the dirtier it gets (to an extent of course).

The Mopar is a standard Fleetguard filter...not the Stratapore.

I want to thank all of you for the responses. I am actually considering shelling out a few more bucks ($30), for a Fleetguard LF9028 Venturi Combo Lube Filter. Has both full-flow, Stratapore media...as well as a bypass media all in one filter.

Here's a few links if you guys are interested.

Would you guys see any downsides to running this filter out 20,000+ miles? Keep on changing the oil at 6,000 or so.

Sorry for the double post...but I was saying I "wouldn't" mind running it out that far, then cutting it open after. See how it holds up.
