Fleetguard Stratapore Question

Does anyone know if the LF3462 is a Stratapore filter? If not, does anyone know how I can tell if it's a Stratapore filter judging by a part number? This is what they recommend for my Acura, but I don't want it if it doesn't have Stratapore because I could just buy a PureONE instead... Fleetguard's site isn't much help, they just say that they have Stratapore in their filters but fail to mention which ones.

If I am reading the catalog and application lookup properly, all the LF3000 series filters are synthetic/Stratapore. I say this because when I see "Upgrade" or "synthetic media" the catalog refers to LF3*** series.

You could probably get away with a LF3536 for more filter capacity. It's a LF35XX. My LF3554 is a synthetic media upgrade of LF782--I would think that means Stratapore, and I would expect the LF3536 to be the same.

Nope.

Standard media Ford-cross is the LF3313, syn media version is the LF3487. Both 3000 series, LOL!

Perhaps I will contact Cummins Filtration and ask for a list of synthetic media spin-ons and a list of StrataPore spin-ons, and get some information on Beta ratios to post on BITOG. Unless you have this info already?

Synthetic filter media could also be a microglass filter. Most microglass filters I've seen rated at 99% 30 micron and 73% 10 micron whereas a stratapore is 85% 10 micron. For instance, I believe the LF3487 referred to is a microglass filter. I just put a pair of them on a Perkins engine.

I have this dream of installing a big honkin StrataPore/Stacked Media Bypass filter on my car and only changing it every 50-60K mi. Install a little drain plug on the can, too.

Why doesent fleetguard makes their "In the 1980s, Cummins Filtration took another step forward with the introduction of combination full flow/by-pass filtration in the patented LF3000™." types for the common gas engine?
Id love to have one on my Durango...

There's no market of merit for it. The market already delivers suitable filters for gas applications. If gas engines had 12 quart sumps and were subjected to soot loading, then they might see the point. If cars start moving to dry sumps and remote oil tanks of higher volume ...start reaching higher OCI's than even the Euro's currently do, then they might manage something like this.

I'd like one too, but there's just not much sense in making it.

And mocrogreen seems to do it.
I belive that a truly high quality filter can have its place on the market dispite the fact that costs twice the price.
