Just a few hours ago, I used the turkey baster method to get the old "Dexron type ATF" that was factory fill in my friend's 2005 Scion TC. The 48,000 mile oil formed deposits that were clinging to the reservoir and dipstick. The car does steer a little smoother, but that is about it.

I'm looking forward to seeing if the replacement fluid cleans off the hideous deposits that are clinging to the reservoir.

More frequent intervals will be needed. Siphon/refill is a great way to maintain the PSF. But, it is a partial change and intervals can make up for the 'partials'.

I expect any new fluid to clean it up after several timely siphon/refills.

I've been running Dex-VI as PSF in the Escape for over a year now. It helps with power steering whine in cold weather, but I don't think that's of any benefit to you in Florida.
