Changed my oil today and put in M1 ESP 0W30 for the first time. I doubt there will be any noticeable difference from the Valvoline that was in there. The vehicle is my '23 Hyundai Santa Fe with the 2.5T engine. Direct injection for sure and I believe it also has port injection under certain circumstances. I've got 25,200 trouble free miles on the car and I enjoy this engine. Is it really quick? No. But the 277 hp and 311 torque moves it along pretty well. I also installed a Fram XG12811 filter that is supposed to 'protect' for 20,000 miles.
I've been doing oci of roughly 4000 miles since new. I'll continue that. I had wanted to vac out the oil in 4000 miles and leave the filter in place. But I also added a magnetic drain plug this time so I'll probably do a drain and fill next time so I can see if there is anything on the new plug. And concerning the filter, I would never run one to 20,000 miles, but would you folks feel comfortable running one of these Frams through 12,000 miles? I'm 74 now and having the ability to vac out the oil and leave a filter in place makes an oil change infinitely easier for me.
So that's my story. I'm running with the good stuff now.
