Oh my!!! and your car didn't blow up? No way!! You mean, you not only put a quart of Mobil 1 0w40 in it, but you mixed it with PP? Are you insane?? This is how black holes get started!! Hokiefyd....best of luck to you for creating an evil monster that will devour the entire universe. LOL!!

I was just glad to see I'm not the only "moron" who does this type of stuff. Instead of making all of your decisions based on fear, why not "come alive" and interact with the world and see what happens. I'm not even talking about oil here, but yet I am. Life to me is so much more interesting when you can make a hypothesis and record some results. Whether they are real results or not....like you dumping in Mobil 1 0w40 in your 0w20 PP. It worked. It should tell you something. It's your DECISION to keep on using that combo or seeing if you can improve it still or perhaps you are scared and decide it's safer to make your car engine sound like a Singer Sewing Machine....

You mean like thinking out of the box? Going against the grain? Be careful, you might start trouble. LOL

I know I have been away from the board for a long time and our world is becoming progressively more hostile but I am seeing an increasingly biting tone on the board (I succumbed to it in one thread myself). If one likes talking about oil and making new discoveries this is a great place. BUT (I can't believe I am saying this), it is JUST OIL after all.

PS. What I am about to say doesn't change my enjoyment of some of our discussions but I bet you if a scientific study were done of our members who use and change oil according to factory recommendations, the number of lubrication failures and the number of members who did not get the mileage they hoped for from their vehicle would be inconsequential.
