Firearms in the movies

I'm not seeing the error there.
The slide should lock open, therefore since it did not there should be a round in the chamber, either a dud or a fired round that did not eject.

I doubt every auto was designed to lock the slide. And of course there could have been a malfunction preventing the slide from locking. Out of all the nonsense in the movies that's certainly nitpicking.

Have you noticed how tremendously inaccurate all firearms are when the car is speeding away from the stationary shooter? The good guy never hits his target when that happens, ever.

Actors in police shows almost always have a terrible grip on the gun. They hold it all flimsy like with three inches above the top of their hand to the top of the backstrap. Semi autos are supposed to be held as high up on the grip as you can get. Really chaps my behind.

Another one, police actors go into a highly dangerous situation, such as a swat raid on an armed gunman, and only bring their pistol. In real life you bring a long gun to a gun fight and don't bring a pistol to a gun fight.

The craziest gun scenes I've ever seen are the old old westerns. I can't remember the guy's name but he would basically hold the sixgun over his shoulder pointed beside him and flick it forward for every shot. Firing an Uzi on auto for several minutes without reloading seems sensible.

Jurassic World burned me when the lever action rifle is shot multiple times like a semi auto while never cycling the lever, ruins the movie immediately! Even though it was about dinosaurs that don't exist!

You can't point a gun at the audience during a movie's trailer, for some MPAA-enforced reason.

On a sem...after the last shot the slide remains open and you eject the old mag, put in a new one and press the slide release. No need to "rack it"

Note to self: this is one more reason why I'm thankful that I never watch movies, and my parents would have never allowed a television to be a babysitter.

Its so bad here the guy behind the counter complimented me on not swiping him when he handed me the weapon. He said he almost never sees that.

Sorry hatt I couldn't edit my last comment on the slide..I saw it was already addressed.

I caught a scene on some dumb movie recently where a woman made about 5 shots in succession from a double barrel shotgun.

I accept movies for what they are - entertainment.

Not on all semi-autos. A Kel-Tec P-3AT and a Ruger LCP, for example, do not have a last round slide hold open...so the slide will ALWAYS close after the last round.

For this reason, among others, it's usually recommended to release the slide by slingshotting it forward rather than by depressing the slide stop lever.
