Coffee house we go to upgraded their system. Android phones work. Talked with their I.T. provider said everything they should work newer than 2019. Have a 2020 and a 21 neither work. Works with a hotspot from our phones. Any idea to get them to work on this system?

You're not able to see the WiFi network at all, correct? What exact model is the Kindle? Some of the older models were 2.4Ghz only.

that would be my first guess too but it doesnt make sense with a 2021 fire tablet.
Even with WPA3 it should see the Access point.
but fire 10 tablet 2021 supports AC so.. 5ghz should be no prob.

Does it see the network and not connect.. or not see the network at all?
If they see the network and wont connect it might be because of WPA3 encryption.
no fix available for that.

Another possibility is that AP/router is using a 5Ghz channel not supported by the device. Not super familiar with Kindle devices and is why I asked for the model/gen.

I'd make sure you're not using UNII-2 & UNII-2 Extended (DFS) channels. They're not widely supported on tablets and smart devices.

It supports AC which isnt that old? (and 5ghz)
Its also not a kindle, but a fire tablet.. basic android tablet with fire os.

Hes using it at a coffee shop and his phone works there.

Still not clear on if it just wont connect to the network or doesnt even see the network

Without stating generation, we didn't know what it did or didn't support. I see OP added that after my post.
Kindle, Fire, call it what you want. It's a generic Amazon tablet and doesn't change the premise.

Try it with your phone and I assume your phone works already? Make sure the settings are matching to the dot between the phone and the fire tablet afterward.

So do your phones work on the wifi?

if so install and run an app such as network analyzer
screen shot(usually hit volume down and power button at same time)
post what the coffee shop wifi shows up as.
