How does the 2.3 Ecoboost perform in the Mustang?....Normally I'm not a fan of small engines being turbo'd for economy reasons but a 2.3 is a decent sized 4 cylinder.
This is a NA 5.0. GT.
I know it's a 5.0 but if I was to consider a Mustang I'd like the MPGs of the Ecoboost....
Whats the delta?
I rent both, and I don't notice all that much difference in general all-around driving (note: rentals are always automatics) . I get about 24-25 with the EB, and about 22-23 with the 5.0 V8. Of course if I drive very carefully, both will get far better MPG, with the EB clearly winning out. HOWEVER, that requires near-hypermiling techniques. Also, the EB does perform significantly better with premium fuel. The 5.0 seems to run fine on regular.
I do like both, very much, but the V8 really does all the right things!
