Finally building a new PC

Agreed. Lian Li used to be incredible. Now they’re still decent, but I find them overly complex.

I am now a big fan of the Antec Flux and Asus Prime.

I just googled the Antec Flux; never seen it before but oh my is that a gorgeous case. 15 years ago when LL was still making brushed alumunum cases, Antec was a very close second in beauty. They kind of dropped off and slid towards the gaming RGB stuff but I hope they're coming back with simple elegance. I wish I had seen that before I went with a TT Core P3. At that time, I was considering the Fractal Design North, but the XL version was not out and I wanted more space between the top of the case and the top edge of the motherboard because of clearance issues with the 6+2 CPU power, fan/pump headers, and a 120x360 radiator.

I had a Lian Li PC75 for years that had several different systems in it. After that case, I had an Antec (can't remember the model). I was gifted this Lian Li a couple of years ago by a friend of my eldest, it has been sitting in the basement since, so it's finally going to see daylight :ROFLMAO:

It's not a bad looking case. Mesh front, liquid cooling mount on the top with screen, removable screen for the PS fan on the bottom for easy cleaning, and a "tray" section below the main cabinet where both the PS and 3.5" HDD's would go (I'm not installing that, since I'm just doing SSD's) that's accessed by a swing-down door, as opposed to the side-opening glass doors on front and back, with the hinges at the rear.

It's not super complex, but I've seen simpler for sure.

This case is actually somewhat similar to that one design-wise, with the upper/lower compartments on the sides, the mesh front with fan holders...etc.

I noticed most of them are of very similar design now, if not almost exactly alike inside of the case with the exception of mesh locations. Not that that is a bad thing - a good and efficient inside design is great. Does the Lian-Li come with dust filters? My biggest regret going to an open case is the dust; I didn't think it was going to be as bad as it is.

There's a removable one for the top and the bottom (where the PSU draws in), but not the front and the back, just the metal mesh, like on the lower compartment.

I'm disappointed only 64GB.. thats not overkill enough. ;)

Too overkill maybe...?

This is my main PC, an over the top AM4 build that is now 4 years old. MSI Prestige X570 EATX motherboard, Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO 128GB (4x32GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 RAM kit, Samsung 980PRO 2TB boot SSD, Samsung 990PRO 4TB storage SSD, MSI RTX3080Ti, be quiet 360mm AIO (that is serviceable with a fill port on the radiator), 120mm Phanteks PWM fans, & Seasonic PRIME TX-850, 850W 80+ Titanium all in a Corsair 5000D case.

SSD's arrived today, so got those installed. There's still some dust in the case (good 'ol century homes), but I'm not going to deal with that now. I decided to put Windows 11 on it and got most of my stuff transferred over, so I can DD it. The old Mac Pro is hooked up a few feet away now with a single screen for stuff I haven't migrated yet.

AMD ships this CPU with LED's in the cooler, lol, it's a bit silly.

Recommend getting a Thermalright Phantom Spirit or Peerless Assassin at ~35 USD for that CPU. The stock cooler will have a decent amount of thermal throttling.

AIO liquid coolers from Thermalright are also very affordable and work well.

Yeah, we installed one of those on my son's:

The stock cooler fan is audible with basically any small amount of CPU usage, which isn't enjoyable.

Nice, dude! Looks like you need some intake fans? I highly recommend the TL-S12. It’s very affordable, available in a 3-pack, and it has proven to be an excellent performer, moving air efficiently with very low noise. It even beats Noctua options.

If you want to go all out, replace the fans on the rad with Lian Li Unifan P28. It has the best performance through a cooler. You can then use the fans from your cooler as exhaust and bottom intake, since they’re probably TL-G12 or B12 and still decent.

If you do this you’ll be amazed at how low your temps are for the amount of noise generated.

It's already really cool surprisingly, I think because the case is so open. The PSU breathes through the bottom, so I don't think I actually need any additional ventilation at this point.

Of course the fans have LED's :ROFLMAO: I feel like my computer is part of the "Fast and Furious" franchise.
