It has been almost 3 years since putting a Magnafilter in line with my XG16 remote behind LPD transmission cooler. Today I decided to open and see what I’d find. Not easy to open and not much on magnets. Decided not to spend that $40 again … and this was the 3rd magnet on this line (early magnets fairly loaded), have cleaned pan magnets 3x, and changed the 20 micron filter yearly + pan volume of ATF via drain plug

Pictures also show what I went back with.

I changed the engine oil ... XG10575 changed oil/filter early due to leak in air intake (5k on filter)

This is an unexpected filter … thought I was getting Baldwin … got (3) Sure Filter … ? Well, it was heavy, pretty decent build for under $6 … and the PRV would be up if I’d ever run on older 5.3L

Nice pics and thanks for the detailed info

Well, I’m kicking back something cold in the AC … had enough 96 degree weather today … but we are expecting a 91 degree cold front,

Tell us more about that camera.

Just an iPhone 6+ …

I use one of these filter heat sinks on my Kohler powered tractor. I don't have much airflow across the fins as the tractor is generally operated at ~ 3 mph. I figure every extra bit of oil cooling on an air cooled engine may help engine life.

Sure … they don’t cost much to buy … and work for free after that …
