One filter for one OCI is a travesty to our environment. Some auto manufacturers are already recommending every-other OCI for filter change and in another five years, they all will recommend every-other.

Currently I run 6K OCIs. I change the silicone ADBV Tough Guard filter at every-other.... 12K. It's fine after 12k and could hold even more gunk. Recycle and preserve!

Totally agree. I have usually always run a filter for 2 changes (I usually do shorter change intervals too) and I have never had an issue. Filters have always looked fine and UOA always came back fine in all vehicles I did this with.

As I have stated before, to each his own.

So somehow there is a material difference between (let's say) two 5000 mile OCIs and one 10,000 mile OCI?

Let's say that you use your oil filters how ever many times for the same OCI and I will continue to use "One Filter, One OCI!"
Does it actually bother you that I choose to use a new oil filter per each OCI?

No absolutely not it doesn't bother me. I only use filters for one OCI too, even on my Honda despite using the Honda OEM filters. But since you claimed you could use the Fram Ultra for 10,000 miles but only one OCI, I wondered what difference you saw in using it for two 5000 mile intervals instead.

And I also agree that to each their own but that's not what you're saying, in both large font (with exclamation points) and in your signature. You're pretty clearly advocating a position that I'm asking you about.

"One Filter, One OCI!"

Can you see that, or, shall I make it bigger?

Nope, but apparently it bothers you that others use a filter for more than one oil change.

If you want to use one filter every oil change or use a filter for 5 oil changes don't worry about it, do what you want and don't worry about others.

Getting the maximum life out of your vehicle far out weights the OFCI or OCI. The energy it takes to make a vehicle, the resources, are huge from an environmental perspective. The resources to make oil filters are minor. Your choice to double or single stint an Oil filter is washed out by the effect of that choice on the vehicle. By picking what is best for your vehicle you'll be picking what is best for the environment.

Some people single stint as a way to ward off oil filter failure. By making a habit change it every time, they don't run the risk of forgetting how man OCIs have gone by and getting a failure that destroys an engine (huge environmental impact). Some people double stint to get better filtration, reducing engine wear. To each is own. . . Just remember to keep an oil filter prospective, your engine is more important.

It bothers me about as much as my idealistic use of 1 filter per OCI bothers others.
And, why do you think I type,"TO EACH HIS OWN!" Does it bother you as well?

BOF ... if it didn't bother you then you wouldn't be posting your mantra of "One Filter, One OCI!" and arguing about when a filter should be changed.

That saying was made by me, for me. I learned long ago that I can't change the oil filter changing world! That's why I now say,"TO EACH HIS OWN!" But, I do admit that I like to

Get over it man, I'm NOT going to give you any OTHER answer. Just leave it alone! Or, are you the type that has to have the last word every time?
