I will remember his sense of humour.....ie

"elf poop" description of GC under a microscope.

Too early age wise and most unfortunate circumstances.

I wonder if Butler will setup a PayPal account for Mark's family. I would send something ..for sure.

I've been out all week and just read this terrible news. Mark was such a great and professional guy. I'm profoundly saddened by the loss his family has suffered.

Leftover $ from Z-oil? I will probally be a long time before we need another full gas chromatography done. If anyone deserves credit for their input here, it's Stinky. What I am saying is that he was more valuable to us than any future group analysis we might desire.

I'm totally up for sending a fat check to his family curtosey of BitOG guys. It should be easy...for us.

Should we do it?

59Vetteman: This sounds like a good idea. How can we go through this site to raise some money for Mark's kids? I'm in for $100

Heck, if every registered member would kick in $2.00 we could raise some serious money for them.

Johnny,

The only way to do this is to use PayPal. And mark the donation "Mark" or "Mark Mathys". The board paypal logo is the one to click on. I can keep an accounting like I did for the oil study, so each member knows exactly where we stand. I can also start a donor list and pin it in General. Also please include your board name or member number. Thanks.

I just read this. I asked him via e-mail what benefits a coolant analysis would accomplish. He offered to do one at no cost, just send him the sample...nice guy..

I have been working for hospice for eight years now. If i have learned one thing, its, "Human beings don't come with expiration dates". You never know when your time is up.

Are you married? Hug you wife and tell her you love her...

Have children? Hug 'em. Tell them you love them.

Friends? Tell them how much their friendship means to you...

"Be a bit slower to judge, a bit quicker to forgive, and when you see someone struggling...lend a hand..."

Godspeed...

Wow...This is hard to believe. I spoke with Mark a couple of times and e-mailed with a couple of questions. He was a very nice, polite and unassuming person.

Great idea on taking up funds for his kids. His children were still young. It will be difficult for them to lose their father!!

After discussing this with my wife, I'm going to go ahead and donate. How old were the kids? Does anyone know? My wife asked, and I would like to be able to answer.
