BITOG member, Stinky Peterson was killed in an accident while loading a trailer with tree branches. He will always be remembered for his many knowledgeable posts on oil analysis and various other topics. He was the Oil Analysis Lab Manager for Butler Machinery Labs, one of our Sponsors.

Please say a special prayer for Mark and for his wife and family. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

I once inquired about an oil sampling pump, and he e-mailed me personally in 2 hrs. Was very helpful and interested. I remember telling my wife about his response, and thinking "that's a nice guy".

his posts were always honest/direct.

We'll be thinking about his family, and wishing them all the strength they need.

I have known Mark Since 1999 when he helped me deciper the CAT labs bizzare FTIR scale. He was a kind professional to me and my company.

I had tried to get him to join in on BITOG since its inception and wow, when its time you are taken.. Life is very quick and death even quicker.

I am in a state of shock over the accident and that recently took summer vacation with his family.

God Bless and prayers to his wife and kids, and the rest of the guys at the lab.

Many don't know it but Mark was BOTH a professional HDD mechanic and had a degree in chemistry.

Yes, I agree. In my dealings with him he seemed like a truly nice person. This is a sad day for the board. May God bless his family.

You guys have all said it better than I could.

I never had the pleasure to meet Mark but from his posts here I always got the sense that he was just about as nice as they come, full of that "Mid West Goodness" that we need more of...

Rest in peace brother.

Steve

This is truly a great loss. May God be with his family during this difficult time.

I had only talked to him once via email, he was very helpfull and I could tell he was a great guy.

He will be missed by everyone on BITOG.
