Feeling guilt spending money

You folks are truly awesome. I didn't expect such insightful replies.

I think I should try and be more thankful about the nature I have rather than have to deal with the opposite condition. A really intelligent man once told me that he believes that everything in life comes with its own prison attached with it. I'm beginning to find the wisdom in his words.

Finding a balance between the two would be even better! You sound almost miserable being how you are. To me, dying with only an accumulation of wealth and/or material things is what would be really sad.

I'm cut from a different cloth and chose the road less traveled. My wealth is measured in family, friends, career, spirituality, and the rest of what life's roller coaster has to offer.

I wish you success in finding a similar balance if it suits you.

This. Since I nearly died as a child, I tend to take value in these things as well. You simply never know what day will be your last.

That said, I try to keep things simple. I just bought am affordable house that I can pay off pretty quickly. I refuse to buy a car over 20 grand. (means a new small car or older truck). I don't have lavish stuff, either.

About the only things my wife an I are on would be eating out (loving trying new places), and a vacation. Other than that, I keep it simple...

Used to feel extreme guilt. Having a budget and every dollar assigned to a purpose relaxed me a bit.
Now only mild guilt.

TBH I dont feel bad at all, i dont put moneys is my main priority in life , my body and health is the most important, moneys and material is just a bonus in life, that how I think, if moneys I spend made me happy and healthy that all I care. and remember happy with what you have and accept the limit, dont be cheap and greedy and dont compare yourself with some body else, moneys is just bonus, love and happyness is the most important thing.
