This filter was on my 2014 CRV 2.4 for about 3k using Valvoline R+P. Filter seems dark for 3k but the grit in the filter shows the oil is doing something. I again used Valvoline R+P but went with a Carquest Blue 84356. I’ll run this combo again for 3k

At least with the Carquest it'll be easier to cut open to visualize what the filter caught if you're interested in doing that.

I think the underlying point was you were criticizing him for under-utilizing the filter. It was a typical back-handed comment, especially with the ROFL emoji. Let him do his thing without cutting him down.

100% agree, over the years I've seen way too many people on BITOG have an attitude where they post comments like, "you ain't dun used it enough" therefore the person who obtained an item to use it as they see fit is somehow in the wrong and merits criticism, even if the person doing it thinks that they're just joking though I think at this point most people just find it to be obnoxious.

On one hand if someone cuts open a virgin filter that's not a waste but if they use it as intended for any period of time that is below some arbitrary threshold, that is a waste according to some among a very vocal minority. It might be better if some could just exercise self-control and resist commenting if they don't have anything meaningful to contribute.

Nah, more so directed towards Fram.

As most on here. I was one of the biggest Fram fans....but no more.

How they have taken this filter ... And turned it into the 3k current filter.. tragic

It’s not a 3k filter, I just did that because I’m running valvoline r+p and the car has a slight oil consumption issue

It's not a bad idea to use a high efficiency filter on a clean-up cycle, or even an oversized one. I'm doing the same thing with HPL EC 30 on the Express in my sig, oversized Purolator Ones every 1000 miles. There's a lot of crud in there...

But same cheapened media?
How old is the filter you cut open in this thread?
The Endurance has different media (and is wire backed) than the new Ultra without wire backing, if that's what you're asking.
