Considering a new Mazda CX-5 and a main reason is the great reviews of the Skyactive 2.5L engine . It looks like it will run well on either the specified 0W20 or 5W30 ... Your preference and experiences in a synthetic oil for the Skyactive 2.5L ?
Considering the Mazda filters don't contain an ADBV, I think we're safe. Also, the Mazda filters are recommended even though outstanding filters are available from Mobil 1 and Fram Ultra. We don't know if non-factory filters meet Mazda's criteria and specifications regarding the Anti Drain Back valves.
So far I'm running on the Factory fill. Just over 1100 miles now. Looks like just short of 450 miles a month. So far the oil has not dropped at all. Staying right on the full mark. The cylinder deactivation most of the time unless you have the cylinder deactivation monitor on you won't even notice when it happens. Going to try Mobil 1 EP on my first change the 5W-30 flavor. Just picked up three Jugs from Walmart on Rollback at a good price. I think I'm going to an October OCI from my current October/April change.Considering a new Mazda CX-5 and a main reason is the great reviews of the Skyactive 2.5L engine . Yes and I could have gotten 10W-30 $2 a Jug cheaper. Some place in the Mazda online manual it say 10W-30 is acceptable.Good thing you got a deal. The prices are definitely up.
*Non - Turbo !The OP didn't specify if he was considering the regular or turbocharged 2.5L engine. I highly recommend the turbo version unless the price is really critical.
Anyway, in my CX 5 with the 2.5L turbo I use Mobil 1 5W-30 EP (Extended Performance) and only Mazda filters. I also change the oil & filter every 5000 miles.
My reasoning ? That formula Mobil 1 oil is very robust and has a low sulfated ash content which is supposed to be better for DI engines.
It also is readily available and very moderately priced. A 5000 mile OCI seems somewhat excessive but that's about all I put on the car in a year, and the cost of an oil & filter change (DIY) is less than $40. No big deal.

Enjoy your CX 5. Every time I drive mine I am still impressed with what a nice riding and handling vehicle it is and the turbo engine really helps.
Try the turbo 2.5 out. Totally worth it.*Non - Turbo !
How did you ever get the Tokyo Roki filters??? (presumably the 66mm 14-flute ones).I have been using 0w-20 for almost five years now in our CX5 along with the Roki OEM filters and it runs like butter. Any major brand will be fine.

Unfortunately, at least per my info, NLA. Unless u recently know otherwise?I bought them from the dealer.
Correct, the made in Japan Roki filters have been superseded by filters made in Thailand.Unfortunately, at least per my info, NLA. Unless u recently know otherwise?

Who knows if the Thailand filters are made by Roki or not? The filters are not marked as such, unlike the ones made in Japan. They only have Mazda and the part number. There are several oil filter factories in Thailand.
