Memory seat/mirror/steering wheel position is a neat feature if the car is frequently driven by multiple drivers.

I also like the fact that the steering wheel will automatically raise itself as you take the key out of ignition to make it easier for you to get out. Once you get in and start the car, it lowers itself back.

HUD sounds like a neat feature, although I haven't had an opportunity of driving a car equipped with it yet.

The Ford door buttons are a real nice feature. If you dont know what they are, it is a strip of number buttons on the outside of hte door that when you enter the right combo it will unlock the door, or open the trunk, or lock the doors. They are actually a keyfob that sticks onto the door. Real cool feature.

All memory positions linked to smart key is even better.

I am waiting for the rearview mirror to get a memory.

I like blind spot indicators too.

The "factory" ones are hard wired, but yes it is available as a accessory for vehicles that have remote but no keypad on the door...

My two Grand Marquis and Marauder all have the factory version...

T-tops, 400 horsepower, superchargers, manual transmissions and automatics that when they shift, there is no mistake they are doing it. Everything else is a distraction...

I do however like steering wheel stero controls.

Ahhh, a post to which I can relate...

I sure hope I don't find any of you complaining about lack of availability of cheaper new car elsewhere on this forum!

Ya I forgot to add that when I typed that out. Most of the time people come in looking for them to me are to add them to a vehicle that has RKE but no keypad.

I like the newer ones that are build into the "B" piller.

Call me old school, but I like manual HVAC control's, aka knobs. I don't want all that whizbang electronic [censored] that cost's $1000 to fix when it fails.

Remote door locks, steering wheel radio controls, automatic headlights are modern features that I find convenient.

The old Plymouth Valiant / Dodge Darts had a little (~3"x5") door with a 1/4-turn latch, below the dash. You could open that thing in the summer and let in a massive flow of cool air.

The "Desert Only" label for maximum air conditioning on AMC products.

A turn signal stalk that was just a turn signal stalk.

Three-on-the-tree.

The heater control valve on my International Harvester Scout. It was a regular plumbing valve mounted on the engine. You opened it in the fall and closed it in the spring (the heater didn't work worth a darn anyway). When the valve started leaking, I just got a replacement at the local hardware store.

The well hidden gas fill on a '56 Chevy.
The moderately hidden gas fill on a '57 Chevy.
Gas filler behind the license plate (bet that wouldn't pass a rear impact test).

Engines in the back of the car (VW & Corvair).

The heater vent beneath the rear seat on a later model Corvair.

Sparkplugs that you could actually get to for replacement.

Hated canister type oil filters (they're baaaaaac).

Locking hubs (they're manly).

A separate shift lever for the transfer case (again, manly).

Rear facing seat in the back of a Falcon station wagon (sitting backwards, great when you're a kid).

Outside door handles with a push-button latch (actually my current car features this).

Don't worry I drive a modern car now, although, I'm looking forward to having a radio that I can plug a USB memory stick into for my tunes (that's a feature I look forward to).

You'd really be turned off by the garage door opener controls built into the over head console of my Marauder, has a compass and storage for my sunglasses as well...

I've had the ability to have whatever temp air out the vents I want in every BMW and Saab I've every owned. It's SO much more comfortable to have toasty feet but a cool breeze on your face on a long winter drive. I feel far more alert and comfortable.

I really miss the front-mounted reverse lamps on my Saab 900. They were mounted behind the front parking lamps and cast a bright broad beam along side the car when in reverse. It was so handy to see EVERYTHING around the car when parallel parking or just backing up at an angle. It also let everyone in the parsect know that the car was backing up.

My old '87 Toyota Camry had a feature where you could almost never come back to a drained battery because you left the headlights on.

If you left the headlights on and opened the door (after a run/shut down cycle), the headlights would go out. But it was kind of a one shot deal though. If you didn't do a run/shut down, the lights would stay on.

I definitely agree with the manual 4x4 on the floor. I like that solid "thunk" you get, lets you know its in 4wd.

Subaru AWD.....I can just drive, no matter what the road conditions, traction is always there. I don't think it affects fuel economy much, I still get 31 mpg in the summer.
