No surprises there. Again, from the studies quoted in the National Geographic article, caffeine is one of the most difficult drugs to fully withdraw from. Many studies downplay the severity if the addictive level of caffeine because it is nowhere near as dangerous as nicotine, cocaine, or opioids.
Many dispute this, because they claim they can stop drinking caffeinated drinks at any time. But few stop for longer than a couple weeks at a time.
