Favorite energy drink

Life is a lot better once you cut caffeine out of completely. It's rough for the first few weeks, but your energy levels will be much more consistent throughout the day.

. . . Take coffee away from a Cuban and you’ll never see somebody more depressed and meaningless in life. It’s like taking away music from humanity.

No surprises there. Again, from the studies quoted in the National Geographic article, caffeine is one of the most difficult drugs to fully withdraw from. Many studies downplay the severity if the addictive level of caffeine because it is nowhere near as dangerous as nicotine, cocaine, or opioids.

Many dispute this, because they claim they can stop drinking caffeinated drinks at any time. But few stop for longer than a couple weeks at a time.

Why quit? It's healthy!

With all due respect as a Cuban American I completely disagree. Coffee time happens all throughout the day. From the minute you’re born you’re already drinking espresso's. Pass me that brick of cafe' Bustelo!

Un cafe' fuerte por favor! :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Better quality sleep, less irritability, more consistent energy levels. Those are the benefits I noticed after a month of zero coffee.
I have no trouble sleeping even if I have caffeine every single day and my energy level is just fine with or without it.

I still don’t typically have caffeine every single day for most of the year but during McDonald’s $1 drink days (May to September) I can’t resist having a medium iced coffee every day. Although that doesn’t really have a huge amount of caffeine (between 80-100mg)

Let’s not spin it!
Coffee is good for you and most likely a significant health benefit.

This from the Cleveland clinic -
“Along with boosting your energy, a moderate amount of coffee can help lower your risk of Type 2 diabetes, liver disease and certain cancers”

This from the Mayo clinic -
“Drinking coffee can be healthy. For example, studies find that coffee drinkers have a lower risk of death from any cause compared to people who don't drink coffee.”

I was a 1-1.5 cup/day black coffee drinker. Never had any trouble sleeping, but my sleep has definitely improved since quitting caffeine.

I'm old, anyone remember one of the very early energy drink 180? Was a Anheuser-Busch, product, tasted like a light tangerine flavor but vanished from the market in 2001 about the time Red Bull started to become popular and for someone who never like the original Red Bull flavor and little choice back then I'm still on a hunt for a 180 replacement.
I do like Sugar free Red Bull Juneberry but its no 180!

energy drinks are for wusses
Real men fall asleep at the wheel? 😳
I worked with a guy who fell asleep at the wheel while driving home after working the midnight shift. I bet he wished he’d drank an energy drink that morning, he totaled his car and broke a few bones

No, typically those who don't rely on energy drinks, dont get tired. Same goes with those who dont rely on mostly carbs for their daily calorie intake....................was my point.

The drug drink would have prolonged the crash, noy prevented it

100%. I used to drink a 1/2 cup of coffee in the afternoon when I needed that boost.

But once I cut out caffeine entirely, it became a non-issue.

8.4 ounce can of varying Red Bull flavors for me every morning. With my migraines, I actually have less issues with caffeine vs without. I had quit caffeine for about a year and came back in 2014. I have a coffee allergy, or I would be drinking a cup of that instead.
