Father's new car

My dad bought a Camry almost two years ago. It was damaged and dealer worked out a deal for 2011 Sonata for him. There is the thread regarding that Camry lemon thread

Well the Sonata was totaled after we had some major flooding in the Chicago land area. It took in water up to the seats.

We stopped by the local Hyundai dealer where my sister and myself have purchased new cars from and both were smooth transactions.

He bought a mint Hyundai certified 2012 Sonata w/ 13k miles for 15,900. It comes with the standard warranty, rubber floor mats, and factory auto start. Lady bought it new from same dealer, then traded it in for a Santa-Fe. She must have lost her you know what on that deal.

I felt that we got a more then fair deal.

I've been impressed with how good Hyundai cars look now vs their late 90s early 00s models. I've even thought of getting one for our next vehicle purchase.

Hyundai makes a great vehicle and back that up with 10yrs 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty.

Just to clarify, the 10 100 warranty is original owner only. Still more generous than some others.
" Coverage applies to original owner only, effective with 2004 model year and newer model-year vehicles. On 1999-2003 model years, coverage applies to original owner and immediate family members (i.e., wife, husband, daughter, son, stepdaughter, stepson)."

With Hyundai certified, the full warranty carries over to the second owner. The statement above would be correct if not certified. This kind of iced the deal for us.

My mom bought her Saturn Ion coupe the same way. Someone bought it, then got pregnant and traded it in after a year or so on a Santa Fe.

"Brand new" car without the brand new car price tag.
