Father's eat free today at Chic fil-A

There used to be a 1/8 of a mile queue of cars at the then-new Serramonte Shopping Center Chic-fil A. There's also a large food truck court right in the parking lot but you have to get out of the car which is apparently an inconvenience for many people. I tried Chic-fil A in Tracy once a few years ago. Never again.

Nothing compared to In-N-Out. Even with a short line inside and plenty of available parking, most of their customers are willing to go 30-40 cars deep in the drive-thru.

I don't think I've ever gone through a drive-through. Eating in my car does not appeal to me, and taking food somewhere while it gets soggy doesn't appeal to me either. Also, fast food is something I eat very rarely. Yes, I'll go to In-N-Out in a pinch or better to Super Duper for an okay burger. The latter does not have a drive-through anyway.

Super Duper has some drive thrus.

Why Are Your Lines so Long?

When something tastes as super as Super Duper, lines are inevitable (yes, even at our Mill Valley and Concord drive thrus). The good news is they move pretty quickly. The better news is those lines lead to something fresh and tasty and made to order.

Although I live close to Mill Valley I haven't been to the Super Duper there and I didn't know they had a drive-through. I sometimes go to the one on Chestnut Street or to the one tiny one on California Street when I go shopping for groceries at Laurel Village.

it's because people are lazy.
Also a chance to play with your phone.

At Sonic you pull into the half covered parking area and the server brings out your food on roller skates. So no waiting in line

First, I'd have to get a pee-yellow Deuce Coupe and carry a pack of smokes in my rolled-up short sleeve!

That's truth in advertising for you. In the case of Taco Bell it's fast food because of how fast it passes through the digestive tract.

I like this quote as well from Chiun master teacher from the movie Remo Williams......"Do you know why Americans call it fast food.....because it speeds up your time to the grave"?

A follow-up. My nephew was starving and wanted a burger so we went to the Super Druper in Mill Valley. As you say it has a Drive-through. We had a Super Burger (double patty) each. I felt swanky like @Zee09 but actauilly got out of the car to eat. Like I said,, no drive-through for me.
