Just went to one. Mom asked me to take her there since driving longer distances can be difficult for her these days. I did see a few things I wanted. Bought a large bunch of Thai style birdseye chili peppers from a farm in Fresno, California. $3. Weighed the whole bunch, and it was over 2.5 lbs with the stems, but just over 1 lb loose. Also found a stall that had sugar cane. Also $3. They were red. I tried chewing on the tip and it tasted like nothing really. Maybe a bit bitter. Supposedly the young tips of the stalk have little sugar. But the red parts with a tough bamboo-like skin did taste sweet. Haven’t had sugar cane in a while. Saw it for sale over a decade ago at a specialty supermarket.
