Lucas must have hired an ad agency to come up with cool Red “N” Tacky name with the red and white background. It’s eye catching.

I used to keep the Mystik JT6 green tube in an aluminum toolbox parked in the sun - not a drip one …I used to keep it in my grease gun, but it would leak; not like the Chevron now doesn't .
Maybe I'll go back to the RNT next time, or maybe I'll try the green.
Caterpillar 452-6001 #2 extreme application grease works very well for anything that’s worked hard… (excavator bucket pins) They also make the same grease in a #1 that works well in colder weather.
Don't we think that the Lucas grease "improvement" is just marketing, like many other products do? Don't many of us make a final decision based on being swayed by some kind of emotional decision bias? I.E., you trust one company more than another or you are swayed by what is popular, the container color, "improved" , "tacky", etc.?
I compared the Lucas spec. sheet to well respected Mystik JT-6 Grease. Both are red lithium complex greases with very similar attributes. Lucas is "smooth and tacky" (very catchy) and Mystic is "smooth and adhesive" , LOL.
That's about as cynical as I can be on this sunny, beautiful Sunday.

The new formula for Red n' tacky shifted them from lithium complex to overbased calcium sulfonate. I would consider it an improvement.
