Can a grease be too tacky?

I recently picked up a grease that is considered extreme duty and tenaciously tacky. The name is Purus ak60. It's a lithium complex that's GC LB rated. It is made with a heavier base oil. This is the tackiest grease I've ever seen. It makes long strings and almost takes effort to stretch it apart. I will try to post a link to the product below. My question is when is extreme tackiness helpful. I understand that it resists throw off and sticks to surfaces better. What about things like u joints, wheel bearings, tie rods ,loader pins and other regularly greased areas?

Looks like nice stuff. Using it in temps continuously below 0F might not be a good idea, and it might be harder to pump out of your grease gun but otherwise I'd say you'll be fine from a component life point of view. It will however make a bit of a mess as it 'hangs on' to things after it comes out of a component, vs falling off.

As with any grease, watch for oil separation in storage.

sounds like coupling grease for large fan drives, its to very tenacious. so it does not fly out
