I'm considering a set of these in 195-70-14 for the family beater, (1994 Plymouth Acclaim). Car is driven less then 3000 miles/year, all local, So tread wear isn't really an issue. I did find some posts from 09 I think. Obviously, cost is an issue or I wouldn't bother.

Discount Tire has this tire locally for $45. What a deal, NOT! Out the door price for 4 is over $300!! What??

At Sams Club I can get the Goodyear Integrity - 185/70R14 88S, a comparable tire, for about the same price and for a few $$ more the BFGoodrich Touring T/A - 195/70R14 90T, a 75,000 mile tire.

Its been a while since I bought tires, I think I'm suffering sticker shock.

Anyway, I'm open to advice/suggestions....

TIA

I just put some General Altimax RTs (I posted a picture on my last post) on my Cav which were like 280 out the door after rebates, which included the warranty. (they are also 195/70/14). DT is due to have another extra rebate deal soon....depending on how soon you need them. If this is a DT/AT, they should also have the Fisk Classic, a tire made by BFG that is around 50 bucks too. I considered these, but wanted a more "fun" tire.

Do not get the Integs! Get the touring TAs there....your driving in the rain will be much better....

If you have a Sears auto center nearby, you could also get the cooper response (based on the lifeliner) around 65 bucks as well...pretty good tire too.

The one thing I really noticed about this size is there is a bunch of cheap tires in this size...most were chinese!

Did a bunch of research for mine-so if you have other questions-fire away!

I dunno much about the Falkens, but I'll warn that everyone who I've known that's had Goodyear Integritys has hated them. [censored] grip on dry pavement and downright awful grip in the rain.
