Our owner (my boss ) travels in style and I get to tag along occasionally.

I dont have as much air time as Cujet but probably more than any other inmate.

The Falcon 50 is noisy, but comfortingly redundant making extended water crossing a bit more.

Im pretty sure this thing drank like a frat house.

The citation X was cramped and had discomforting issues.

The Challenger 350 was really nice, quiet big cabin....

Probably around 250 gallons/hour give or take. That's an old bird.
way old....

Was surprised by some of the functionality/ limitations of this plane.

Raising and lowering stairs enables/ allows a "reboot"
Cant start with a 10 knot tailwind.

Looks like a GIV-SP. Nice older plane, plenty of performance. Don't think the airstairs have anything to do with a reboot, but it could be that the DU885 equipped planes (avionics upgrade to older Gulfstream's) do something unique that I am unaware of.

RR Tay engines, pretty darn tough, reasonably efficient and powerful. Did I mention they make lots of power? One Tay has more power than all 3 engines on the Falcon 50 or 900. The GIV, when not too heavy, can climb at 45 degrees nose up, while accelerating to 300Kts, with flaps at 10.

10Kts is the max tailwind component for T/O+Ldg. I don't recall the starting limitations, but a 10Kt tailwind seems low.

Did you fly in the Gulfstream?

The fuel seems like the cheap part of the ride - its the hot section rebuild of three units that I shudder over....

I flew in it - not far enough to matter Sac to SFO.

Ive flown the planes I mentioned from Sac to SFO and a few more elsewhere for other reasons.

When the boss flies back there seems to be a frequent coincidental need for me to be in San Francisco he'll fly to Maui from SFO and " drop me off" at SFO.

I often take Bart right from the airport into the city and the stark contrast of getting off a private jet and onto the subway/ train is never lost on me.

Love the Falcons. I had set up a flight dept. for the company I worked for. The height of the tech boom and we went from one Hawker 125 to three of them plus a Challenger 601 in two years.

After I had moved on to another role, somewhere over the Atlantic one of the Hawker's TFE's threw a blade from the first or second stage turbine. The Falcon tri-jet was on order soon thereafter...
