Drained the factory fill from my 05 Tacoma (4.0 V6) at 505 miles and filled with Mobil drive clean (new formula)

Should I bother doing a used oil analysis on it or just wait?

I plan on Mobil 1 5w30 at about 1500 miles.

Don't bother. You won't get any usefull data from it other than casting sand and break in metals showing up(I think it's a waste of money this early) Personally I would wait until you hare broken in and have a steady diet of a quality motor oil(looks like it's M-1 for you) in it for at least 10K miles before I began to do a used oil analysis.
Since you have chosen M-1 I would run it For 2 5k mile intervals then do a used oil analysis to establish a base line as well as to evaluate the motors health.Sounds like you have a good break in regimen planned.
Congrats on the new Tacoma. The new motors seem nice.

A used oil analysis might be of interest to the group as to what Toyota puts in those engines at the factory. Otherwise you are not going to get any useful info.

PS It wont look as bad as you think.

Why would you want to do an oil anaylsis on oil with 505 miles,is there a suspected problem? Do your Mobil 1 oil at 5,000 " miles on the oil"

It's not worth it to do a used oil analysis unless:
  • you are addicted to used oil analysis (like many here

    )
  • you want to trend data (great for others with the same vehicle)
  • you're just curious about what all the initial break-in metals look like
