Helping dad out next week and changing his oil while he's out of town for business. I have the 5.0 so I know the filters are way different between the 2 motors. He said he doesn't care what filter, just not a FRAM. I personally don't care, but its dads truck so no FRAM.

I've been using the Carquest Premium on my truck and have no issues. Is the Carquest a good cartridge option or just stick to the Motorcraft 2062A?

The premium guard made cqp is one of the best filters at the moment and the motorcraft filters are having some issues but that's with the canister filter. That 2062a is a cartridge type. The metal spin on can like the fl500/ph10575 is a canister type. The cartridge motorcrafts aren't being problematic as far as we know just the canister ones. You're good with either but I'd take the more efficient carquest. I believe someone posted about a fram cartridge filter opening from the pleats but I don't know if it's one that fits the 2.7.

Thanks for the typo catch on the 2062 being a cartridge and NOT a canister. My bad.
